According to the data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Bangladesh, the floods in the country destroyed around 1.1 million tons of rice. This major harvest was devastated due to the floods caused by heavy rains and prolonged downpours.
As a result of the natural disasters, many farmers lost their crops, leading to serious economic consequences for the country, where rice is the main crop and a staple food for the majority of the population.
Officials expressed concern about the damage caused by the flooding and promised to provide necessary assistance to the affected farmers. For many villages left under water, the situation is becoming increasingly critical, as access to food and water is severely hindered.
The Ministry of Agriculture is currently working on plans to restore and provide assistance to farmers in order to mitigate the damage and ensure food security in the country. Authorities are also calling for international communities to provide financial support to alleviate the aftermath of this natural disaster.
